Optimum Nutrition Glutamine Powder

* Supports Muscle Recovery

* No Gums or Fillers

* Immune Boosting

Optimum Nutrition L-Glutamine Powder is considered a conditionally-essential amino acid. It is not considered "essential", as we can synthesize it. However, L-Glutamine is considerd conditionally essential, meaning that under certain circumstances, we may not be able to produce enough to maintain health. Such "circumstances", are during burns, sepsis, shock and other less severe conditions, including immune dysfunction, hyperpermeable intestinal mucosa ("leaky gut") and any form of physical stress, such as rigorous exercise. It is believed that the L-Glutamine contained within Optimum Nutrition L-Glutamine Powder will help restore homeostasis in these situations, allowing for faster recovery. L-Glutamine is also considered brain food, as it passes through the blood brain barrier unchallanged and can be used as a fuel source, much as glucose is. Additionally, it may also be useful for immune suppression during the cortisol-related suppression seen with elite athletes and motivated exercise enthusiasts.

For a post-workout or intra-workout boost, try Optimum Nutrition L-Glutamine Powder mixed in your amino acid formula or protein shake. Alternatively, it may be taken away from exercise in water, as the flavour is quite neutral.
