There are many other natural metabolic assistants or fat burners that can make weight loss programs that much more effective. One of these is Green Tea, which comes from the plant Camellia sinensis. Though Green Tea does contain naturally occurring caffeine, it has been demonstrated in clinical trials that Green Tea increases the basal metabolic rate above and beyond its caffeine content, which is likely due to the epigallocatechin-3-0-gallate (EGCG) content. The basal metabolic rate is a measure of how metabolically active the body is at rest, and is the net result of all of the necessary bodily functions that we require to stay alive. So a basal metabolic rate increase is still in effect when we exercise.

 

In addition to stimulants and Green Tea extracts, there are many other formulations and ingredients that are helpful as a fat burner. Green Coffee—containing chlorogenic acids—may also assist, as can Acetyl-L-carnitine, Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA) and capsicum extract, amongst many others. Carnitine can often be found in thermogenic fat-burners, like Oxyshred.
