Rule 1 R1 Train

R1 Train from Rule 1 Proteins is a well-balanced nutritional formulation designed to assist in performance during exercise or physically demanding work. It contains a carefully selected profile of amino acids and nutrients that help to modulate a number of the bodies biological processes to improve physical strength, stamina and also to aid in retaining that muscle fullness sensation that we all enjoy after a good gym session. Alternatively, this product may also be used by tradesman or labourers who’s physical demands are high. Rule 1 Train contains Betaine Anhydrous—also known as trimethylglycine—which is a natural compound originally isolated from beetroot—hence the name—and is an amino acid analogue containing three methyl groups and one glycine molecule. This compound is a rare yet exceptionally beneficial ingredient found in pre and intra workout formulas, which may increase oxygen transfer from red blood cell to muscle cells, and therefore help to increase maximal oxygen uptake.

R1 Train contains branched chain amino acids (BCAAs) in a 4:1:1 ratio of Leucine to Isoleucine to Valine, providing a total of six grams BCAAs per serve. BCAAs are a fantastic muscle fuel source, providing natural muscle stamina—rather than the quick buzz that we feel after a pre-workout containing stimulants like caffeine. Intracellular (inside the cell) and blood leucine levels decline during exercise due to high rates of leucine oxidation. Due to this fact, it is therefore helpful to replenish with this essential amino acid during or immediately after exercise in free amino acid form, as opposed to food or protein powders (excluding hydrolysed protein) which require digestion of the complex protein molecules. As blood supply is limited to the gastrointestinal tract during exercise—the body shunts blood to other areas in greater volume, like the heart and skeletal muscles—providing free-form amino acids during training can be highly advantageous. Leucine has also been demonstrated to stimulate protein synthesis and therefore support healing of muscle tissue that may be damaged, such as muscle micro-tears, as a result of training (1).

Additionally, Rule 1 Train contains Citrulline—an amino acid precursor to Arginine—which is then used by the Nitric Oxide Synthase enzyme for the manufacture of Nitric Oxide (NO)(2). NO is a gas that signals the smooth muscles of blood vessels to relax, thus increasing their diameter and allowing more blood to flow to muscle tissue. This may improve oxygen and nutrient delivery during exercise, and support increased performance. Moreover, R1 Train contains Taurine, Glycerol and Glutamine, each included for their own biological reasons, supporting performance, aiding in the sensation of muscle fullness and even supporting the immune system, the latter of which can become suppressed due to high cortisol levels when overtraining occurs. All in all, this is a well-thought-out product containing a great balance of ingredients to assist you with physical performance, and even begin the muscle healing process while you train.
