Herbs of Gold Ubiquinol
- Boost Mitochondrial Health
- Support Natural ATP Synthesis
- Enhance Energy Production
- Increase Peak Powder Performance
Ubiquinol is the most recent addition to the world of Coenzyme Q10, which has been on the market for many decades now. Herbs of Gold Ubiquinol contains the active form of this vital nutrient, which enhances the biological effect of the supplement. Basically, taking the active form of any nutrient aids the body in overcoming genetic polymorphisms, which means limitations in enzyme synthesis.
As research into this field is developing, it is becomming clear that whenever we take a nutrient in its active form, it is likely to be more effective. Ubiquinol is naturally synthesized in the liver, and plays a crucial role in the mitochondria where it is involved in oxidative phosphorylation, the last step in ATP synthesis. It also has an antioxidant function, helping to keep this energy synthesizing powerhouse functioning at its peak. Herbs of Gold Ubiquinol contains 100mg of this nutrient in each capsule.
In addition to supporting general energy levels via oxidative phosphorylation and mitochondrial health, ubiquinol may also be helpful for the management of a number of conditions, such as headache and chronic fatigue syndrome. As you can probably imagine, for an interesting nutrient like this, numerous clinical trials have been undertaken over the past few decades, investigating its usefullness in the management of a number of conditions. Ubiquinol has been shown to benefit chronic fatigue syndrome, headache and even assist in sports and exercise performance.
This latter study was undertaken in German athletes, and indicated that 300mg per day of Ubiquinol leads to an increase in peak power performance of 2.5%, compared to placebo 1. Although 2.5% does not sound like much, you have to remember that these are well trained, and young, athletes, likely already performing with exceptional peak power performance, and at an age (20 years, on average) when natural Ubiquinol synthesis is high. Therefore, one can surmise that as we age, supplements like Herbs of Gold Ubiquinol should be even more helpful at increasing sports and exercise performance.
A clinical trial of CoQ10, along with Vitamin B2 and Magnesium, indicated that this combination of nutrients was helpful, compared to placebo, in decreasing migraine symptoms and the burden of disease 2. Other research into chronic fatigue syndrome indicates that, at 150mg per day, it is helpful for reducing the symptoms of this condition 3. Herbs of Gold Ubiquinol is a versatile supplement that can be used for a range of conditions, as well as to support exercise performance and wellness.
