About Vitamin E Supplement
Vitamin E is a fat-soluble vitamin that naturally occurs in 8 different chemical forms (alpha, beta, gamma and delta-tocopherol and alpha, beta, gamma and delta-tocotrienol) of which alpha-tocopherol is most common. Synthetic alpha-tocopherol is listed as either "DL" or "dl" and is less active than the natural for listed as "D" of "d". Vitamin E is an antioxidant and works to neutralise reactive oxygen species (free radicals) caused as a result of metabolism or from outside sources such as smoking and chemical exposure. Vitamin E also plays an important role in the formation of red blood cells. Symptoms of serious vitamin E deficiency include: muscle weakness, loss of muscle mass, impaired vision and unsteady gait.
