About Biotin Supplements
Biotin (Vitamin H, Vitamin B7) is involved in carbon dioxide transfer and is necessary for cell growth, the production of fatty acids and the metabolism of fats and amino acids. Biotin is involved in making glucose and in energy production as a cofactor in the citric acid cycle (Kreb's Cycle). Biotin may help regulate blood sugar levels but it's main use as a supplement is in strengthening hair and nails. Biotin has been used to assist alopecia (hair loss) and to assist "cradle cap".
