About Diuretic Supplements
Diuretics assist in the removeal of excess fluids by increasing flushing from the tissues where it is not needed. This leads to increased urination and electrolyte losses, making it important to maintain a healthy mineral and electrolyte status with natural diuretic supplementation. The Sporty's Health range of natural diuretics contain herbal extracts, such as celery seed and Bearberry (Uva ursi).
Diuretic Supplements are often used by bodybuilders to assist with the removal of fluids that can cover up hard-earned muscle mass. Supplementation typically begins close to competition, once body fat percentages are close to their target. Diuretics can be used as part of a detoxification program, for weight loss diets, high blood pressure and visible fluid retention in the extremities, such as the hands and ankles. Long term use of diuretics is not recommended as it may lead to dehydration and electrolyte depletion.
