About Creatine Blends

These blends are formulated with a range of creatine varieties, each with their own set of individual benefits. Though the effectiveness of creatine monohydrate (anhydrous) is without question, there are additional benefits associated with other forms of creatine. This is due to the fact that a molecule is attached to the creatine with a separate set of benefits for exercise performance and recovery. For instance, creatine nitrate contains two molecules: creatine and nitrate.

Common forms of creatine used in Vreatine Blends are creatine hydrochloride, creatine nitrate and creatine malate. Nitrate is a naturally occurring compound found in beetroot and spinach. It promotes nitric oxide synthesis in the human body via an alternate route to the well-known arginine and citrulline pathway. Nitric oxide is a gas that relaxes smooth muscles within the blood vessels. This causes an expansion of the blood vessel, allowing more blood flow to the peripheries and muscle tissue. This process may help to lower blood pressure as well. Boosting nitric oxide syntesis helps to improve nutrient delivery to muscle tissue during exercise, supporting performance and muscle "pumps". Creatine nitrate also provides creatine, with all of the typical benefits, such as improved phosphocreatine and free creatine stores and enhanced explosive strength and power.

Creatine Malate is another form of creatine often found in Creatine Blends. Creatine malate provides a malate molecule, also known as malic acid. Malate is an essential part of the krebs cycle or citric acid cycle, a foundational step in ATP (energy) synthesis. Malate may support ATP or energy synthesis and potentially reduce delayed onset muscle soreness.

Creatine Blends may contain carbohydrates and other functional ingredients, designed to improve exercise capacity and recovery. You may have noticed that come creatine formulations contain carbohydrates. The insulin spike created after carboydrate ingestion allows creatine and amino acids a faster pathway into the muscle cell. This enhances the muscle uptake of creatine and overall benefits of supplementation. If your creatine does not contain a carbohydrate source, try adding some powdered carbohydrates, such as dextrose, or eating some mashed potato, honey or fruit. This is a surefire way to boost muscle uptake
