Musashi Cysteine Hydrochloride is a precursor of glutathione, the body's antioxidant along with Glycine and L-Glutamic Acid which assists in the neutralisation and removal of free radicals. It assists in detoxifying the liver by binding to potentially harmful substances, thereby protecting the liver and brain from the harmful effects of drugs, alcohol and the toxic substances of cigarette smoke. Cysteine also assists in protecting the body from radiation damage.
Cysteine is a major component in the structural keratin (protein) of the skin, hair and nails. It is plays and important role in the production of collagen and promotes healthy skin elasticity and texture.
The amino acid Cysteine is formed in the body from L-Methionine but also requires the vitamins B6, B12 and folate for its synthesis which may be impaired in chronic illnesses. Supplementary Cysteine may therefore be beneficial in the treatment of chronic illness.
